She was the daughter of the late George and Leolia Anderson of Jackson County, West Virginia. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie; a brother, Nathan Anderson; sisters, Georgia Anderson, Mason, West Virginia, and Florida (Oatho) Casto, Mason, West Virginia; a nephew, Charles Casto, Mason, West Virginia; nieces, Sharon Long, Point Pleasant, and Patsy Oiler, Mason, West Virginia; and her loving dog, Penny. She is survived by her nephews, Ronnie (Susie) Casto, of Pomeroy, Ohio, with whom she made her home with, and Bobby (Ursula) Casto of Virginia, and by her niece, Angie (Teddy) Swartz, of Gallipolis. Susie is also survived by four great-nephews, three great-nieces, five great-great nephews, five great-great nieces, and her loving dog, Sassy. Susie was a loving, caring, and patient person who helped to raise all of her nieces and nephews as if they were her own children. She was always there for her family. She will be missed by all who knew her. A new star has been added to heaven, and we know she will always shine down on us. We will miss you, Susie! Dale Malcolm Kautz, 81, of Chester, Ohio passed away on June 24, 2008 at Camden-Clark Hospital in Parkersburg, West Virginia. Dale was born at Chester on February 27, 1927, the son of the late Elmer W. and Ina E. Kautz. He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Tim Massie; son and special friend, William Dale Kautz and Paula Ashley; sister, Grace Swiderski; grandsons, Jason (Jennifer) Massie, Jeffrey Massie and Jacob Kautz; granddaughter, Jenna Kautz;great grandsons: Luke and Layton Massie; many nieces and nephews; and a very, very special friend, Bettjean Sams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of fifty years, Alice Joann "Jo" Kautz, who passed away on October 14, 2005 and his brother, Carl Kautz on November 1, 1967. Dale graduated from Chester High School in April 1944, and was Valedictorian of his class. WWII was racing then, so instead of using his scholarships, he helped his father on the farm to produce more food. He discovered he liked farming and spent his entire life on the farm. He started Chester Agri Service in 1969 with his wife Jo, and they ran the business for 28 years. Dale and Jo also ran a dairy for over 33 years. Dale's passion was corn production, which he produced from 1945 to 1997. His last crop of 125 acres in 1997 produced 207 bushels per acre. Dale was civic minded and he worked with many organizations. One of the first was Meigs County Jaycees, Meigs County Red Cross, has been a Seventh Degree Grange Member for over 65 years, a Farm Bureau member, Meigs County Antique Tractor Club, and Pioneer Antique Power Association. Dale and Jo were instrumental in getting the Town & Country Expo started. He served on the Township and County ASC Committee, The Farm and Home Administration Area Committee and was a member of the Board of Directors of Farmers & Traders Life Insurance Company in Syracuse, New York for 25 years. Dale was elected to the Board of Directors of Farmers & Traders Life Insurance Company in 1972 and served until the mandatory retirement age in 1997, also serving on the executive, finance, audit, compensation and nominating committees during his tenure. He also served on the proxy committee for the Farmers Banc Shares, Inc. for over 20 years. Dale & Jo were avid Antique Tractor and Farm Equipment Collectors for over 20 years before selling their collection. During this time they owned over 40 antique tractors. Dale loved farming and the business and he spent his entire life on the farm where he was born, except for two years of military service in tanks. He served in the Army with the 3rd Armored Division and then with the 82nd Airborne Division. Dale and Jo loved to travel and have visited 46 countries and all 50 United States. Wellman and loving father of Michelle (Brian) Wellman Miller died Sunday, May 11, at home with his loving family by his side. He was born May 24, 1949, in Logan, WV, and is still survived by his parents Ira C. Wellman and Irene Wellman that were originally from the Gallia County area. He is survived by his brother, David (Angie) Wellman of Gallipolis, OH; sisters, Donna (David) Russell of Delaware, OH, and Diana Racer of Marion, OH. He is also survived by his precious granddaughter, Mikayla Fleming and several nieces and nephews that he loved dearly. He always promised them eternal love and life in their walk with Christ. He had recently retired as pastor from the Christian Community Church of Point Pleasant, WV. For the past 15 years he was the founder and president of Thunder Ministries which reached world wide to establish faith in Jesus Christ. He graduated from Gallia Academy in 1967 and attended DeVry University for two years in Columbus, OH. Pall Bearers will be: David Wellman, Mike Shiflett, Jack Ritchie, Jonathan Rush, David Russell and Colt Racer. Honorary Pall Bearers will be: David Wellman, Jr. and Jimmy Litchfield. Funeral services will be held at 2:00P.M. on Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy. Burial will be in Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Dewey "Mack" McKinley Horton Jr., 77, of Middleport, Ohio passed away on May 10, 2008 at the Overbrook Nursing Center. He was born on August 8, 1930 in Roanoke, Virginia son of the late Dewey McKinley Horton, Sr. and Florence Elizabeth Fair Horton. Mack was a United States Army Veteran, serving in the Korean War and a member of the Feeney-Bennet Post 128 of the American Legion. He was a teacher for over 20 years at the Buckeye Hills Career Center. He was a member of the Middleport Heath United Methodist Church and he once served as Mayor of Middleport. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Pauline Grace Horton. Mr. Horton is survived by: his children, David M. Horton of Sabina, OH, Jean Azar of Belpre, OH, Paula (Kevin) Roush of Mason, WV; grandchildren, Jared Azar of Belpre and Kane Roush of Mason; step-grandson, Corey (Andie) Roush; step great grandchildren, Lexie and Brenna Roush; sister-in-law, Phyllis (Keith) Adkinson of Parkersburg, WV; brother, Jack (Julianne) Horton of Louisville, KY; niece, Amanda Horton of Louisville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 2:00pm at the Heath United Methodist Church in Middleport with Pastor Brian Dunham officiating. Burial will follow at the Riverview Cemetery.
